Seven lessons
Written for the family, not the algorithm
01
How recruiting actually works
Film, relationships, and fit — not likes, camps, or paying someone to “get you seen.”
02
The class-year timeline
What to do in 9th, 10th, 11th, and senior year so you are not late or burning out early.
03
Film coaches will watch
How staffs use Hudl in 30 seconds, what belongs in a highlight, and what to cut.
04
Academics without the panic
Eligibility, transcripts, and what recruiters need to know — without dumping student records online.
05
The high school coach conversation
How parents talk to the staff, what to ask, and how not to get in the way of the kid.
06
Camps, DMs, and money pits
Which events matter, which emails to send, and which $3,000 packages to walk away from.
07
When Pro or VIP is worth it
A straight filter: stay free, step into Pro, or go VIP — based on film, class year, and goals.
Why this exists
Know the process before you buy Pro
Most families pay for the wrong thing first. This guide covers timeline, film, eligibility, and which packages to skip. Athlete Pro ($39/month, or $199/yr) is still there when you want Hudl work, a verified badge, and eligibility checks. This is the cheap, honest on-ramp.
We send the lessons to your email. We do not promise scholarships, offers, or roster spots.
